Acoustic Characteristics Analysis of Bass Guitar Strings

📊 What You Can Analyze

📈

Sustain Ratio

Measures how long the note maintains its volume after the initial attack. Higher values indicate better sustain.

📉

Decay Time

Time required for the sound to decay to 50% of peak amplitude (-6dB). Indicates how quickly the note fades.

Attack Time

Time taken to reach 90% of peak amplitude from 10%. Measures the initial transient response.

🔊

RMS Level (dBFS)

Average sound level in decibels relative to full scale (0 dB = maximum). Typical recording: -12 to -20 dBFS.

🎵 Getting Started

1

Play Open Strings

Play and record the open strings of your electric bass in order: strings 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 (from lowest to highest). Play each string with at least 5 seconds interval to allow sufficient decay for accurate decay time measurements.

2

Save as WAV File

Save the recording as a WAV file for best analysis accuracy. Other formats (MP3, FLAC) are also supported.

3

Upload to Website

Click the button below to upload your recording file to this website.

4

Select Bass Type and Start Analysis

Select your bass type (4-string, 5-string, or 6-string), then click the "Start Analysis" button. The results will be displayed once the analysis is complete.
